Better be Safe than being Sorry - A Survival Kit
So what do you need to do before zombies actually happen?
Zombies are often represented by an infectious virus transmitted by bites and by contact with the bodily fluids. Stephen Schlozmann, a psychiatrist at Harvard describes this condition as a syndrome of Ataxic Neurodegenerative Satiety Deficiency caused by a contagious agent. The Guide for Zombie Survival identifies solanum; a virus as a cause of the zombie.
Rise of zombies in the pop culture has supported the idea that the zombie apocalypse could occur. In such a scenario, zombies would invade entire countries, roaming the streets of the city eating anything that comes in their way. The spread of this idea has caused many people to ask the question of how I can prepare before the zombies actually happen. Prevention is always better than cure. Therefore, the survival kit is necessary before the zombies actually happen.
What should you do before zombies happen?
First and foremost, you must have an emergency kit at home. This includes items such as food, water, and other supplies to help you get a few days before you can find a zombie-free refugee camp. In case of a natural disaster, this will leave you with a little time to reach the evacuation shelter or the service lines are restored. There is a variety of things you need to include in your survival kit as mentioned in the CDC emergency page. Some of the basic things to include in your survival kit are mentioned as follows.
You need 1-gallon water for a single person per day
You need to store non-fresh items that you eat on a regular basis
This prescription and over-the-counter medications
- Tools and Supplies
Tools and supplies include tape and knife etc.
- Hygiene and Sanitation
Soap, bleach, and towels, etc.
- Clothes and Apparels
You need to have a change of clothes for every family member as well as a blanket.
- Important Documents
It includes copies of your passport, ID card, birth certificate, and driving license, etc
- First Aid Supplies
You need some first aid supplies in case a zombie bites you/ These supplies can help you to treat lacerations and cuts.
Once your survival kit is ready, you need to have a family meeting and develop an emergency plan. The plan should focus on where you will go and who to call if the zombie appears in front of your door. You can also implement this plan in case of flood, earthquake or other emergencies.
Here are some tips for you
Determine the types of expected emergency in your area
In addition to the zombie destruction, this can include floods, earthquakes or hurricanes. If in doubt, contact your local Red Cross agency for more information. You must choose two meeting places, one near you and the other outside.
Decide a place
Choose a gathering place for your family if zombies invade your home or evacuate your city due to a hurricane. Choose a place just outside your home for sudden emergencies and a place outside your neighborhood if you cannot go home immediately.
Consider your emergency contacts
Make a list of local contacts such as police, firefighters and the local zombie intervention team. Also, select an overseas contact that you can call in an emergency to inform the rest of your family that everything is fine for you.
Plan your escape route
When the zombies are hungry, they do not stop until you get food, which means you have to leave the city quickly. Plan where you are going and how many routes you will take in advance so that carnivores do not have a chance. This is also useful when natural disasters occur and you must act quickly.
Make sure to consider these tips and stay safe.
