What Genre do you write it?
What literary pilgrimages have you gone on?
Nothing more than the very depths of Amazon :'D
What is the first book that made you cry?
Does writing energize or exhaust you?
BOTH! I feel energized when writing, but sometimes, knowing how much writing is ahead, can exhaust.
What are common traps for aspiring writers?
Overthinking the little stuff. Focus on the story first, then fix the book at the sentence level. If the story doesn't speak to the reader, who cares about a few synonyms and changes of grammar?
What is your writing Kryptonite?
Too many ideas, not enough time!
Do you want each book to stand on its own, or are you trying to build a body of work with connections between each book?
Each book should stand on its own (IMO)
How did publishing your first book change your process of writing?
It taught me to write the first draft fast, then fix mistakes after. Nothing is easier to fix than a full rough draft.
What’s your favorite under-appreciated novel?
Simon Kernick - Relentless
The #1 international bestseller.
One day Tom Meron, a happily married father of two who’s never been in trouble, receives a phone call that will change his life forever: his friend Jack Calley, a high-flying city lawyer, is screaming down the phone for help. As Meron listens, Calley is murdered. His last words, spoken to his killer, are the first two lines of Meron’s address.
Confused and terrified, Meron grabs his children and hurries out of the house as soon as he can. It is only just in time. Within minutes, a car pulls up outside, and three men get out. It’s clear that they’re coming for him.
And with his wife missing, an unidentified corpse in her office, and the police after him for murder, his life’s about to get a whole lot more interesting.
