Javan Bonds - Apocalypse Zompoc Author

About Javan Bonds

Javan Bonds is the Amazon Best Selling Author of the Zompoc series, Still Alive. This series includes Book One: Zombie Lake, Book Two: Zombie Island, Book Three: Zombies On A Plane, Book Four: Zombie Oasis, Book Five: Zombie River Run, and Book Six: Zombie Paradise Lost Upcoming books in the series yet to be released include titles such as, Zombie Perdition, Zombie Insurrection, Zombie Revolution, Zombie Deliverance, Zombie Tide, Zombie Bay, and Zombie Gulf ... just to name a few.

The Still Alive series follows a group of survivors in small-town Alabama trying to keep their wits about them while making a new life in a world overrun by naked, blue-skinned, yellow-eyed, nocturnal zombies that spew vile shit everywhere. Also, these former humans attempt to devour every last morsel of flesh on any uninfected as they become increasingly more intelligent and sadistic. Fun times! Think WW-Z, Zombieland, and Shaun Of The Dead, only better.
Bonds has had to overcome numerous obstacles in writing, as well as to live his daily life.
Diagnosed at the age of eleven with Friedrich's Ataxia (FA), (a progressively degenerative neuromuscular disease under the umbrella of Muscular Dystrophy ), FA has slowly robbed him of his physical abilities through the years. Bonds started using a wheelchair in 1999, but that was only the beginning of his setbacks. In 2010, his sight started diminishing, to the point he is now legally blind. Now, because of his deteriorating hearing, he can't pick up individual voices in a noisy room.

In spite of all of this, he continues to work tirelessly... seven days a week on his writing. Bonds, never letting his disability rule him, has lived, loved, and laughed often. Reading and writing have long provided Bonds with both pleasure and a creative outlet. At a very young age, he began blogging and has written articles and letters for local newspapers. In 2010, he discovered a passion for writing novels. With the help of Nuance's Dragon Naturally Speaking, he continues to write every day.

In late 2015, at only 28 years old, Bonds was told he might have only a short time left, due to the ravages of FA on his heart. After learning that, he has been hard at work to complete his other novels and have them finished before his time in this world runs out. In mid-2016, Bonds published his first novel, FREE STATE OF DODGE, the first book in a dystopian series about America in decline and its rebirth.

Bonds hopes you enjoy the Still Alive series, with its humor, pop culture references, and excessive zombie killing action. Oh, and there is a pirate ship too. Planning to write many more installments in his Still Alive series, he is revisiting the Free State of Dodge, working on completing a saga sometime soon... as well as releasing Audible versions of most of his current works.

Javan has these words of wisdom to offer for others stricken by a life-shortening illness. "Live your life. Light your candle on both ends and let it burn. It may go out faster, but it will be brighter than some who live much longer." Keep an eye on his flame. Watch it burn!

Book 2
Zombie Island
Being The Hero of a zombie apocalypse ain’t easy. People expect you to defeat lunatics, save survivors, and recover the treasure, when you would rather just make time with your girl. Mo Collins can’t avoid his scripted destiny; his personal Oracle, Smokes, won’t let him. He can still bitch about it, though.
The crew of the replica pirate ship, the Viva Ancora, is growing, and the cast of characters are fulfilling their roles towards destiny. As the group swells, the need to clear the town of the infected and secure Guntersville Island becomes paramount. Isolation from the world will protect them from the naked, blue, undead cannibals—or will it?
Something’s not right with these “zombies;” the script is veering off into the unwritten. The more contact the team has with their predatory enemies, the less certain they are of their actions. Are they wiping out a plague…or murdering a new order?
Follow Mo and his crew as they try to skew fate and carve out their own society on an Alabama lake where the fish bite, the Zombies bite… and sometimes life bites.
Welcome ashore, friend, to Zombie Island!

Book 4
Zombie Oasis
Mo Collins is surviving the zombie apocalypse, but it hasn’t been easy. So far he has gathered himself a group of misfits, and one monkey, to help carve out an island paradise in the middle of a world turned blue and ravenous by an unknown plague.
Mo’s home, the Viva Ancora, a replica pirate ship is filling up with a list of characters that would make George Romero proud. Along with the guidance of Smokes, his personal Oracle and the direct link to what seems to be a scripted reality, he has saved his parents, broken his perfect brother and future sister-in-law out of prison, fought off a crazed military wannabe dictator and survived a plane crash. All in the same day!
So now that things seem under control on Guntersville Island you would think maybe life could begin to take on some sense of normalcy and he could settle down with his girl and live out his life on this island oasis. Guess again. Life just isn’t meant to be easy when you seem to be the Hero of a predestined movie script.
So hang on! The ride is about to get wilder and travel into uncharted territory. Next plot point of this movie: A Cure? (Saw that one coming didn’t you?) New faces? New Adventures? New Villains? Does it ever end? Mo the reluctant Hero can’t help being just that, The Hero.
So here we are again on that same Alabama lake, where the fish bite, the Zombies bite…. and sometimes life bites.
Welcome ashore, friend, to Zombie Oasis.

Mo Collins survived the beginning of the zombie apocalypse by staying on the replica pirate ship the Viva Ancora. But after a chance meeting of another survivor, Smokes, everything changed.
Mo has become The Hero in a story seemingly channeled by Smokes. Following a prewritten script Mo and Smokes gathered a crew of typical zombie apocalypse survivors. Well typical except the zombies are called peevies, are not dead but blue, naked, shit spewing infected rapidly evolving monsters that will rip you apart and eat you slowly.
With the help of The Expert, The Tech, The Old Friend, and The Oracle they defended island home from betrayers, zombie hordes, and villainous dictators. Oh, they survived a plane crash rescuing Mo’s brother. Being The Hero is hard work.
Now they are on a quest to find a cure. What new adventures will they encounter? What new dangers will they find? Will they find new friends? New foes? Will Smokes find more Newport’s?

Meanwhile, back in the tranquil oasis, something dark and sinister has in crept; a wolf in sheep's clothing, a vile monster that hungers for the treasure that is humanity’s best hope for the future… the children.
Can good triumph over evil? Will this wickedness spread? Who will stand against the malevolence? Is all hope lost?
It's the end of the world as we know it.
Come join us, friend. In a place where the zombies bite... fish bite... life always bites... and sometimes, people bite.
Welcome, to Zombie Paradise Lost.

Where did you get the idea for the story?

Mark Tufo, author of the Zombie Fallout series, was the original inspiration for my books. But each individual piece of the story is influenced by others or just things that have happened in my life

Where did you get the idea for the characters?

Some of them have at least real life physical inspirations. The only one that I don’t actually know is Smokes. I’m not even sure where he came from but now I know him better than I know myself.

What are you working on next?

I’m wrapping up work on Blood of Tyrants before publishing. Book 7, Zombie Perdition is with my alpha reader now. I’m also work on books 8, 9 and 10.

2. Surviving the Zombie Apocalypse

23338453. sy475

For Cade Grayson, husband, father, and former Delta Force operator, that one warm sunny Saturday in July - later to be labeled Z-Day by some anonymous person probably long dead - began like all the others before, and none since.

With his daughter, Raven and wife, Brook, away visiting her parents in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Cade hopes his immediate future holds nothing but an easy chair, Mariners on the tube, and paring down a honey-do list a mile long.

But those hopes were quickly dashed and his life forever changed when news broke of a clash in downtown Portland between soldiers from the Oregon National Guard and hundreds of anarchist protesters suddenly turned violent and, by one anchor's account, blood-thirsty and cannibalistic. As the first waves of injured bystanders, Guardsmen, and rioters arrived at hospitals in and around Portland, it became apparent that a deadly new disease had been unleashed on the population.

Whether the virus was naturally occurring or an escaped lab experiment Cade hadn't a clue, and he wasn't especially concerned until he learned of its unprecedented virulence, unusual method of transference, and the fact that, according to the talking heads on the news, it brought the newly dead back to life, semi-mindless, and with an insatiable desire to feed on the flesh of the living.

Armed with this new information and now seeing the bigger cities such as Washington D.C., New York, and Los Angeles rocked by the rapidly spreading scourge, Cade ignores the volley of contradictory edicts drawn up by the White House and set into motion by FEMA and DHS, dusts off his tools of war, and loads his truck with supplies. Unable to get ahold of Brook and Raven and unwilling to leave them at the mercy of some distant politician's inability to hold the nation together, he begins an impossible 3,000 mile journey across a reeling United States with presumably millions of infected in his path and only one acceptable outcome: find Brook and Raven alive-or die trying.

3. Zombie Road

34108605. sx318

The first book in a thrilling new series.
The people that tried to kill the world were fiendishly clever.
After decades of planning, the contagion was unleashed and overnight hundreds of millions died and came back as rampaging, undead monsters. The living that had been lucky enough to survive the first day of carnage, lucky enough to be in the right place and lucky enough that some of them had the skills they needed, soon found out there was much more to worry about than just zombies.
In the high desert on the outskirts of Reno, there is an old truck stop frequented by a mix of hard caliber truckers, day tourists, musicians and travelers. They have survived the chaotic first hours of contact with the undead and now must make their way across the country to a location they believe is safe. Zombies are only the beginning of their troubles as they try to cover the thousands of miles of open road with their hastily armored 18-wheelers. Gunny, a long haul trucker doing one of the few jobs available to him as a disgraced soldier, is unwillingly saddled with the job of getting these survivors to the safe zone. With a motley crew of truck drivers, college kids, veterans, a drug dealer and a rock star, they are racing the clock to make it before time runs out. The last text he had received from his wife before the cell towers went down told him she was trapped in a high-rise in downtown Atlanta and their son was in detention, stranded in the basement of the school he attended. Gunny just wanted to drop the hammer, steal some guns and blast his way in to rescue them but duty called. He had to get these people to safety first, then he could recruit the best of this crew to help him save his family. If they survived the journey.

4. The Undead

A deadly infection spreads across Europe.

The Undead Series: A terrifying account of one man desperately struggling to survive this harrowing event.

5. Apocalypse Crusade

24714564. sy475

In an apocalypse there is definitely a beginning where mistakes are made and the seeds of evil are allowed to sprout and take shape. However, an end is not so certain. Once an Apocalypse occurs not even death is certain. Sometimes death is only the beginning.
At first light that morning, Dr Lee steps into the Walton facility on the initial day of human trials; she can barely contain her excitement. The labs are brand spanking new and everything is sharp and clean. They've been built to her specifications and are, without a doubt, a scientist's dream. Yet even better than the gleaming instruments is the fact that Walton is where cancer is going to be cured once and for all. It’s where Dr. Lee is going to become world famous…only she doesn’t realize what she’s going to be famous for.
By midnight of that first day, Walton is a place of fire, of blood and of death, a death that, like the Apocalypse, is seemingly never ending.
