Madness Unleashed: Age Of Madness - A Kurtherian Gambit Series (Live Free Or Die Book 1)

Ryder has been held against her will for twenty years … Now it’s time for some payback!

Two hundred years ago the earth was destroyed by the World’s Worst Day Ever. Keeping his head down for the last few centuries, a mutated vampire has taken advantage of the new post-apocalyptic normal.

Now, Ryder is provided an opportunity to escape his tyrannical rule… But she won’t stand for simply disappearing, it’s time for justice.

Taking one mutated vampire down should be no problem, right?

Wrong!

Throw in a newly developed herd of zombies, and Ryder is facing a full recipe for disaster.

Get ready to enjoy the ride!

** As noted in other series set in the Kurtherian Universe, there IS cursing in this book, occasionally, it's funny, too. **

Interesting and entertaining start to a new series based in the Kutherian Gambit universe. The storyline is more post apocalyptic than other stories i. This story arc and involves zombies (though not specifically stated as such). The characters are tough but mostly likable. Plenty of zombies and fighting with zombies along with subplots. Looking forward to book 2.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ohh Zombies

So new KU series fans like me were looking to read and understand the Age of Madness and how we it came about. Which leads to the Age of Magic. So read on to see how we get there.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome story

I can imagine this story turning into a great series. I don’t want to give any hints or ruin the book, so I’ll try to be vague. I can’t wait to see where the final four will wind up, but there’s a few people in the bunker that I hope they meet and get along with. Book two should be great. Thanks for the adventure.

5.0 out of 5 stars Really good.

I quite enjoyed it, even though, I must admit, I was skeptical about the Age Of Madness. I can't wait to see the badass she develops into, and the path it takes, getting there. The humor is pretty much spot on, especially the Werewolves resignation, to being used as a stuffie.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent!

Fans of the Kurtherian Gambit series will be pleased with this well written entry to the universe. It's placed between the end of the Kurtherian Gambit stories after the Queen Bethany Anne departs for space and before the Age of Magic begins.

This book was excellent. I loved the characters especially Ryder and Terrier. I liked the way the book kept up with both story lines and am chopping at the bit to start the next one. Cannot wait to see how things get resolved.

A fantasy apocalyptic story with werewolves and vampires and zombies. There are battles of right and wrong, good and evil. A sweet heartwarming story that is hard to put down.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent entrance
June 30, 2018

To be honest, it was difficult getting past the first couple of pages. The pacing felt wrong, the layout of adjectives was incorrect, and there wasn't a big hook; but having read most of the KG series I knew that it was going to get better. Finding out, in the afterword, that Ms Lawson is British explained a lot.
I'm glad that I didn't give up. This new series promises to be something special. There are some characters that I really like, some that I really dislike, and none that I'm ambivalent about.
Mr Anderle's rule stating that writers in his universe cannot use "said" often (ie: ...said Char) does force you to re-read certain paragraphs and isn't something that one can get used to quickly. However, for writing of this quality, the entire TKG series, I can overlook something that would usually cause me to remove a star from my rating.
Great job Ms Lawson! I hope to read much more from you.

It just seems like only an opening story with action and excitement waiting to happen. I like that the start of the remnants happens. But I do not understand the why yet, maybe in the next book?

A vegetarian Vampire and a while wolf were team up with a girl masquerading as a man to destroy a old Vampire that escaped BA’s search for the old nosferatu. He has sequestered himself in a bunker with “cattle “ humans and the descendants of scientists seeking the secret of day walking. And it just gets better from there... as the curse of madness is released on the unsuspecting survivors of the WWDE. Creating the raving ancestors of the Remnant, and causing the nanocytes of some of the survivors to run amok. The story of the time between the ages of men and magic.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another really great Kutherian book.

I really enjoyed this book and look forward to her next books. Exciting, great characters and fun to read.

Michael Anderle has brought together a lot of really great writers to develop the Kutherian Sagas. They have developed stories that are exciting, entertaining that include great characters, plots and suspense. Due to the fact that they are extremely well written and leave the reader anxiously looking forward to the next book, they also leave a very satisfied feeling in the reader when the book has been completed.

With not only this author but all authors in the Kutherian group I look forward to reading the non-Kutherian stories they have written. I would recommend to all readers that they Google the “Kutherian Timeline” to see the complete listing of Kutherian books and authors. It provides a visual understanding of the time and relationships of all the books which I found to be an absolute necessity since there are so many authors and related sagas.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ryder's a new favorite character for me! A must read!

Hayley this was amazing! I loved this one so much. I'd been taking a wee break from Oricierian and KGU to read another series that ended up being 134 stories in the 2-4 hour reading range each, I'd no idea it was THAT long a series lol. So lucky I read fast and yet I was 16 stories behind in the worlds of YODA (MA) and his author family so I apologize for not reading this sooner! You all write n publish insanely fast! As of know I'm all caught up....until the new release of I believe a Leira book tomorrow. Hmmmm....16 book in 11 days has left me a bit u sure LOL! So here I Babel to you Hayley as I do to MA and ELLIE and NATALE rather then review properly. This is because I want you to know you have a fan in me, so please keep writing and I will be here on the other side waiting to read every word! I finally am understanding the age of madness we always here about in snip its. This so needed to be written!

5.0 out of 5 stars Another good one!

Format: Kindle Edition
Thanks for another great kgu book! I really love Riders sense of humor, and so courageous. Lots of new characters to get to know. Not a lot of mistakes. I'm old and a slow reader, never figured out how to speed read so I catch lots of little mistakes. Good job Hayley!!! The only big one I caught was when Rider said "Why do men always think I need protecting?" She's been pretending to be a man for years, so that one didn't make sense . Not so big, really.👍 On to Madness Rising!!!! I'm finally reading in order! Yeah!!! Thank you Hayley and Michael!! Onward and Upwards!!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun read!
June 1, 2018

Good book, especially for the first one in a series. The next one promises to be quite interesting. I really enjoyed both authors remarks at the end, interesting and entertaining. Fun read ! For some reason this is not showing as a verified purchase, it is, on kindle unlimited.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good. Ready for more!
June 16, 2018

I look forward to the freeing of all the innocents in the bunker especially Terrier and Mama Lou and of course the children. And the battle between Massimo and Adana. Ryder is a great character and Leandro is a good match for her. I hope he regains the ability to shift easily! Of course I want to see justice bear down on the greedy evil bastards! I will follow!

4.0 out of 5 stars Meet Ryder. She's about to break loosed and you want to be there.
June 24, 2018

It takes a confident storyteller to interweave vampires and zombies into a post-apocalyptic adventure - just the idea makes me cringe. I love Hayley's style of storytelling so I gave this a try and I am glad that I did! I truly don't want to give anything away so I'll leave it at just get this book. IF you are fed up with the same old zombie story GET THIS BOOK. If the thought of another vampire character makes you picture RPatt and cringe GET THIS BOOK! If you simply enjoy a good story GET THIS BOOK!

4.0 out of 5 stars A new different scifi adventure
June 24, 2018

Liked that it was something different compared to a lot of zombie books. The characters were funny especially Carter, and no lie, I love Massimo, the vegetarian vampire. The different povs is what makes it great as well because reading what is happening in different situations makes it seem like a movie is going on in my head. Can't wait to read more of the new situations and new characters that Ryder will meet and succeed.
