Stowaway | Invasion Survivor Book Three | Chapter Twenty-Seven
The silvery mist that engulfed them slowly disappeared, leaving Paige feeling a bit disoriented. She looked about, and AJ, Angela were with her. Unfortunately, so were Dillon and the two scary, tough as nails, armed guys.
So much for her wishing they would lose them somewhere along the way, even though she still didn't know where she was or how she got there in the first place.
One thing was clear as soon as the mist disappeared, they were not in the Common Room of Genesis spaceship anymore. As far as Paige could tell, they were in a much darker place, and there was not a shadow of doubt in her mind that they were now on a different spaceship as well. That mist thing obviously transported them to The Viper.
She instantly missed the times when she could whine about being on the Genesis because this place was so much worse.
Paige looked around and noticed a lot of armed men circling them, all tense and ready to attack. They all had horrible tattoos all over their huge bodies, but Paige refrained from ogling too much, hoping to avoid pissing someone off.
The thing that stood out the most was the fact that they all had wild hair and crazy-looking weapons. There were metal ornaments hanging from their necks and arms. It was savage looking yet modern, like everything else around Paige. The duality was quite disturbing.
The Viper crew surrounded them without speaking a word. All kinds of analogies about pray and hunters came to mind, and she audibly gulped. Realizing what she’d done, she tried to mask it as a cough. She couldn't show any weakness. Not now, and especially not with this crew.
I hope they’re not cannibals, came a sudden thought, but she banished it immediately.
She already had enough on her plate. As long as she didn't end up on theirs, she would be fine. There, she did it again. Paige mentally slapped herself to stop from spiraling.
Besides, Dillon revealed some crazy stuff just a moment ago, but she still wanted to hear more. Unfortunately, Paige had no idea what to do next. Her mind was completely blank, but she had a sinking feeling that they were not going to get out of there alive.
Paige couldn't calm the raging heartbeat inside her chest.
We are so dead! She panicked.
